Soluble inorganic aluminium compounds like aluminium sulfate or aluminium chloride have been challenged by the European Chemical Agency to induce germ cell mutagenicity. Before conducting mutagenicity tests, the hydrolysis products in water and in physiological solutions should be determined as a function of the concentration and pH. Metabolite identification in human liver needle biopsies by high-resolution magic angle spinning1H NMR spectroscopy

High-resolution magic angle spinning (HR-MAS) 1 H NMR spectroscopy of intact human liver needle biopsies has not been previously reported. HR-MAS NMR spectra collected on 17 specimens with tissue amounts between � 0.5 and 12 mg showed very good spectral resolution and signal-to-noise ratios. One-dimensional 1 H spectra revealed many intense signals corresponding to cellular metabolites. In addition, some high molecular weight metabolites, such as glycogen and mobile fatty acids, could be observed in some spectra. Reinvestigation of the synthesis and evaluation of [N-methyl-11C]vorozole, a radiotracer targeting cytochrome P450 aromatase

Abstract Introduction We reinvestigated the synthesis of [ N -methyl- 11 C]vorozole, a radiotracer for aromatase, and discovered the presence of an N -methyl isomer which was not removed in the original purification method. Herein we report the preparation and positron emission tomography (PET) studies of pure [ N -methyl- 11 C]vorozole. Methods Norvorozole was alkylated with [ 11 C]methyl iodide as previously described and also with unlabeled methyl iodide. Complete 1H and 13C NMR assignments of clerodane diterpenoids of Salvia splendens.

Unambiguous and complete assignments of 1H and 13C NMR chemical shifts for five clerodane diterpenes, four of them isolated from Salvia splendens (salviarin, splendidin and splenolides A and B) and one obtained by acetylation of splenolide A, are presented. The assignments are based on 2D shift-correlated [1H,1H–COSY, 1H,13C-gHSQC–1J(C,H) and 1H,13C-gHMBC-nJ(C,H) (n = 2 and 3)] and nuclear Overhauser effect (NOE) experiments. The conformation of the rings of these compounds is supported by the 3J(H,H) values and NOE results. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

The Diels-Alder reactions of the 2-vinylindoles 1a-1d, which are now readily accessible, with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate and tetracyanoethylene give rise to the novel 1,2-dihydro- and 1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazoles 2, 4, and 5 as well as the fully aromatized carbazoles 3. With regard to the product spectrum, the mechanistic rationale comprises a Diels-Alder step, formal 1,3-hydrogen shift, ene reaction, and dehydrogenation. Conformational aspects of the 1,2-dihydrocarbazoles 2b and 2c are also discussed.

The intermolecular interactions in a hybrid electrolyte based on various compositions of the ionic liquid N-methyl-N-propyl pyrrolidinium bis-fluorosulfonylimide (C3mpyrFSI), LiFSI salt and an ether-based additive, 1,2-dimethoxy ethane (DME), have been investigated using the HOESY (Heteronuclear Overhauser Effect SpectroscopY) NMR experiment. Spin‐Labeled Heparins as Polarizing Agents for Dynamic Nuclear Polarization

A potentially biocompatible class of spin-labeled macromolecules, spin-labeled (SL) heparins, and their use as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signal enhancers are introduced. The signal enhancement is achieved through Overhauser-type dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP). All presented SL-heparins show high 1 H DNP enhancement factors up to E=-110, which validates that effectively more than one hyperfine line can be saturated even for spin-labeled polarizing agents. The parameters for the Overhauser-type DNP are determined and discussed. Concerted motions of the integrin-binding loop and the C-terminal tail of the non-RGD disintegrin obtustatin.

Obtustatin is a potent and selective inhibitor of the alpha1beta1 integrin in vitro and of angiogenesis in vivo. It possesses an integrin recognition loop that harbors, in a lateral position, the inhibitory 21KTS23 motif. We report an analysis of the dynamics of the backbone and side-chain atoms of obtustatin by homonuclear NMR methods. Angular mobility has been calculated for 90 assigned cross-peaks from 22 off-resonance rotating frame nuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy spectra recorded at three magnetic fields.
